Made a school boy error as I never test the horns before painting them! Shouldn’t have been surprised but discovered they don’t actually work. The hard part is getting the horns apart as the tops of the steel rivets had to be ground off and then some heat applied before I could punch out the remaining part of the rivet.
Once apart the fix was simple as all that was required was to clean the coil contact with some emery paper!
Now I just need to reassemble and repaint them.
Today I stuck the stainless steel onto the gear box tunnel and continued to paint some of the small parts of the car.
Spent some of the day cutting some stainless steel ready to stick to the wood chassis to protect it h=from the heat of the engine and exhaust. hopefully I will get to install it tomorrow.
Have also been busy painting parts.
The axle brake back plates that I got back from the shot blasting were badly corroded on the outer section over a small area. Rather than try to source some replacement’s I decided to repair the bad section. Photos of before and after.
Repaired battery clamp today along with more filling and sanding of car body.
Also got another batch of parts back from shot blasting.
