Fitted the lock and door catch to the passenger door today. Had to fabricate replacement piece of metal as the original was rusty and full of holes. Also had to build up the spacer that goes behind the metal with fibreglass filler so the door catch lined up correctly.
Got some parts back from the chrome platers. Some of them are not perfect but they are far better than what I sent them. The speaker grills before I sent them away.
And the same parts back long with the other parts I sent to be re-chromed.
Used the lathe and welder to make the lower bushing for the steering column and also made the lower steering shaft (shortened a shaft from a Triumph Stag).
Just need to buy another one so I can sort the middle section or I will need to have a custom length shaft made (currently just used a bit of tubing to check the alignment and required length.
New stainless steel jacking points installed. Took a couple of hours to drill holes as I forgot how awkward it can be to drill stainless steel.
Made a new rod for the hand brake along with a bracket to mount the bias strap to the axle. The original bracket is in the wrong place as the car has had the back plates and drums swapped to larger versions so the linkage is in a slightly different place.
The car did also come with the original drums and back plates but they were in a far worst condition so decided to keep the larger ones.
